-We put or togas & stolas back on and got ready for the rest of the day!
-Nummus Diei... (coin of the day) We looked at an ancient Roman coin that actually depicted the tools used in making coins! We also learned about the myth of Juno "Moneta" and its connection with the word "monetary"...
-We looked at Mr. A.'s coin collection (real pieces, some silver and bronze); Mr. A. also has a real bronze signet ring which we later used!
-We created our own coins on paper with silver and gold glitter glue
-(We skipped a review of the Egyptian gods; they are strange, and you can find them in today's packet!)
-SNACK- the usual fare: pita, olive oil, cheese, grapes, juice (fake wine)

THE GRAND EVENT TO END THE WEEK....

The treasure hunt!
There were 8 questions (one for each child) to answer, and Egyptian hieroglyphics directed them toward the next scroll (questions were written on the scrolls).
After the last question was answered, students were directed to find Mr. A. (aka: Zeus) behind the school; there they answered another question and searched for their treasure chests. Treasure chests contained candy and 3 authentic ancient coins!
